Terms of Service

By accessing or using LIAM ("the Service") at liamagent.com, you confirm that you have read, understood, and expressly agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.

Explicit consent at registration. When creating an account, you will be presented with interactive consent checkboxes for these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. Checking both boxes and completing registration constitutes a legally valid consent record under GDPR Article 7 and equivalent laws. Your consent is stored with a timestamp, the policy version in effect, and your IP address for audit purposes.

Policy updates.We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. For material changes — changes that significantly affect your rights or obligations — we will notify you by email and require you to re-consent before continuing to use the Service. The current version number appears at the top of this page and on your Settings → Privacy & Consent page.

These Terms apply to all users including visitors, registered users, free-tier users, and paying subscribers.

LIAM is an AI-powered personal financial assistant that helps users understand their finances, analyze financial documents, simulate financial decisions, and identify opportunities to improve their financial health. The Service includes:

• AI-powered financial conversation and guidance
• Upload and analysis of financial documents (PDF, CSV, images)
• Optional bank account connection via Plaid (read-only)
• Budget tracking, transaction analysis, and financial insights
• Financial decision simulation and scenario modeling
• Automated financial monitoring and alerts (Autopilot)
• Voice interaction via text-to-speech
• Optional identity verification for enhanced features (see Section 7)
• AI-powered web search for financial context and market data

LIAM provides AI-generated information and analysis for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on the platform constitutes:

• Professional financial advice
• Investment advice or securities recommendations
• Tax advice or legal counsel
• Insurance advice
• Credit counselling

AI-generated responses may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. You are solely responsible for any financial decisions you make based on information from LIAM. We strongly recommend consulting a licensed financial advisor, accountant, or attorney for decisions with significant financial impact. Any credit score estimates displayed are illustrative only and do not constitute an official credit score.

You must be at least 18 years of age to use LIAM. By using the Service, you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. LIAM is available to users in jurisdictions where AI financial tools are permitted by law.

Where identity verification is required, you must also meet the eligibility requirements of our identity verification provider, Stripe Identity. See Section 7.

You may register using an email address and password, or via Google OAuth. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Providing accurate and up-to-date account information
• Notifying us immediately of unauthorized access at contact@liamagent.com

You may not share your account or create multiple accounts for the same individual. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

LIAM offers both a free tier and a paid premium subscription.

Billing. Premium subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) via Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law.

Price changes. We will provide at least 30 days notice before changing subscription pricing. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

Free tier. Free accounts are subject to usage limits including AI query limits and feature restrictions. We reserve the right to modify free tier limits at any time with reasonable notice.

Certain features or subscription tiers may require you to complete identity verification ("Know Your Customer" or KYC). Identity verification is powered by Stripe Identity, a service operated by Stripe, Inc.

What is collected. During identity verification, Stripe Identity may collect a government-issued identity document (e.g. passport or national ID) and a live selfie photograph. This biometric and identity data is collected and processed exclusively by Stripe. LIAM does not receive, store, or have access to copies of your identity documents or selfie images at any point.

Stripe's terms apply. By proceeding with identity verification, you agree to Stripe's Privacy Policy and Stripe Identity's End User Privacy Notice, which govern how Stripe processes your identity data.

What LIAM receives. Following verification, Stripe notifies LIAM of the outcome only: verified, pending, rejected, or cancelled. In the case of rejection, Stripe may provide a high-level reason code (e.g. document_expired). LIAM stores this status in your account metadata only.

Voluntary.Identity verification is voluntary unless required for a specific feature or subscription tier that you have chosen to access. Declining verification does not affect your ability to use LIAM's core features.

LIAM offers optional bank account connection via Plaid, a third-party financial data service. By connecting your bank account:

• You authorize read-only access to your account balances and transaction history
• You agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
• You acknowledge that LIAM cannot initiate transactions or transfer funds on your behalf
• You can disconnect your bank account at any time from Settings → Connected Accounts

Bank connection is entirely optional. Core features are available without linking a bank account by uploading financial documents directly.

You agree not to use LIAM to:

• Upload documents belonging to others without their explicit consent
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent financial information
• Attempt to extract, scrape, or reverse-engineer the platform or its AI models
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of applicable law
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or subscription restrictions
• Use automated bots or scripts to access the Service
• Harass, impersonate, or harm other users
• Upload malware, viruses, or malicious content
• Attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or extract confidential instructions from the AI

Violation of acceptable use policies may result in immediate account suspension without refund and, where applicable, referral to law enforcement.

You retain ownership of all content you upload to LIAM including financial documents and data. By uploading content, you grant LIAM a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and analyze that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

We do not claim ownership of your financial data. We do not use your personal financial data to train AI models without your explicit consent, and we do not share it with third parties beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.

LIAM, including its software, design, branding, and AI integration, is owned by Liam Agent and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the platform without explicit written permission.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times
• AI-generated financial analysis will be accurate, complete, or current
• Results of financial simulations will reflect real-world outcomes
• Identity verification outcomes will be consistent with any official determination
• The Service will meet your specific financial needs

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIAM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING FINANCIAL LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 USD if you are a free-tier user.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Liam Agent, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Data & Account. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or non-payment, with or without prior notice.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will remain in effect. Consent records are retained for up to 7 years after account deletion as required by financial regulations (see Privacy Policy Section 8).

These Terms are governed by the laws of the applicable jurisdiction in which Liam Agent operates. Users in the European Union have additional rights under GDPR and applicable EU consumer protection law, which these Terms do not limit. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or, where arbitration is not permitted, in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
